What is the BSBC?
Back in 2001 Bishop’s Stortford Business Connections (the BSBC) was formed by a group of businesses local to the Bishop's Stortford area.
When and Where do we meet?
Meetings are normally held twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at the Coach and Horses, Thorley Street, Bishop's Stortford. It is an early evening meeting beginning at 6pm for 6:30pm and ending at 8:00pm so your evening is still free.
What happens at a meeting?
The group is known for its friendly and informal ambience. Participants are given a 60-second opportunity to tell the group what their business offers, share news, testimonials and thank fellow members for business.
Occasionally a guest speaker is invited or a member takes the opportunity to give a 20 minute talk. At other times the BSBC draws on its members' wealth of experience and facilitates open discussion to help members explore subjects that may benefit their business e.g. Ways to market your business
Is the BSBC a one-member for one-profession group?
Yes. In order to prevent any conflict of interest between full members, the group has chosen to admit only one member from each profession.
Is the BSBC part of a franchise?
No, the BSBC is an independent group local to Bishop's Stortford, run by members, for members.
How many times can I visit?
As a guest, you are welcome to attend the BSBC as often as you like.
Does it cost anything to visit?
As a guest, it costs £15 to visit, which includes a 2 course meal.
How do I join?
Once you have decided to join you will be asked to provide the committee with full details about your business to ensure there is not a clash with an existing business.
What does it cost to belong to the BSBC?
The cost of membership comprises a non-refundable joining fee of £75 plus £25 per month thereafter (payable by standing order) to include the cost of food.
What are the benefits?
The most obvious benefit of BSBC membership is the opportunity to gain more customers and find local suppliers that you can trust. All members have the opportunity to promote their company on this website and via the BSBC’s social media platforms. This currently includes Facebook and Twitter, with plans to develop a LinkedIn presence.
If you are not sure about joining the BSBC we suggest you come along to a meeting to experience what we are all about – we welcome visitors and you will be able to showcase your business (bring along plenty of business cards)
